米国ワシントン州の姉妹都市シアトルにおいて、「神戸ビーフフェア」が開催されます。「神戸ビーフ」は、２０１２年二米国へ初めて輸出され、高級和牛肉の中でも最高の知名度を誇っています。シアトルでは、一昨年、兵庫県とワシントン州の姉妹提携50周年記念イベントの一環として、関係者を招いて「神戸ビーフ」試食会が開催されましたが、今回、一般参加者を対象に｢神戸ビーフ」フェアが開催されます。

So far 65 have registered for the Event and capacity is 100.
This event gives you an opportunity to not only eat pure Kobe Beef from the city of Kobe but also gives you the education of what Wagyu is and Wagyu business in USA (what are the differences in the Kobe Beef Style and all other Wagyu brands?).
Yumi, our staff was able to bring the Owner of John Howie Steak to the event and talk about the customer’s preference at his restaurant and do the demonstration how he cooks steak and his own style of Shabu Shabu! Shiro-san, Founder of Shiro’s Sushi and Nishino-san, Owner of Nishino Restaurant are also helping to celebrate Washoku!
A representative from Itoham America is going to talk about the consumption of Wagyu in the USA, plus there will be a Sake tasting booth, Jazz entertainment etc. We have lots of collaboration for JASSW to have a successful event.

1月16日金曜日、シアトルセンター「神戸ベル」前で当事務所、シアトル神戸姉妹都市協会、兵庫県ワシントン州事務所、さくら祭り実行委員会等の主催で「阪神・淡路大震災20年追悼式典」が開催されました。朝まで降っていた雨もすっかり上がり、この季節のシアトルでは珍しい明るい太陽の下、60名以上の方々にご参加いただき、6,434の犠牲者に対して哀悼の意を捧げました。
来賓の挨拶、シアトル仏教会僧侶による祈願文の朗読に続き、午後12時46分（日本時間1月17日午前5時46分）にあわせて全員で黙とうをささげたあと、出席者一人一人が追悼の思いを込めて鐘を撞きました。
出席された大村在シアトル日本国総領事、シアトル市役所代表Harper氏、ワシントン州政府代表Uy氏は口をそろえて「シアトルと神戸の姉妹都市関係はとても大切。今後ともこの強固な関係が続いてほしい。」と挨拶されました。
式典の後には、シアトルセンターArmoryで被災地の震災復興の様子や、神戸市、シアトル市の災害に備えた取り組みについての紹介を行いました。
1月17日（日本時間）、あの阪神・淡路大震災からちょうど20年目を迎えます。被災地ではこれまで日本国内はもとより、シアトルの皆様をはじめとする世界中の方々からの温かい支援を受け、復興を果たすことができました。
震災直後、ここシアトルでは日系の方々をはじめとするシアトル市民の皆さんがシアトルセンター神戸ベルの前に集まり、5日間にわたり追悼の鐘を撞いて6千名以上にのぼる犠牲者の冥福を祈ってくださいました。
今年は20周年の節目を迎え、震災発生時刻（日本時間1月17日午前5時46分、シアトル時間1月16日午後12時46分）に合わせ1月16日正午から、神戸ベル前にて震災20年追悼式典を開催いたします。

From October 8th to 14th, a delegation of 22 tea ceremony practitioners from Hyogo Prefecture in Japan came to Washington State to demonstrate the traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony and to share Japanese culture. On October 11th they held a special Tea Ceremony event at Nikkei Concerns where more than 50 people participated.
10月8日～14日まで、茶道裏千家の兵庫県代表団22名がワシントン州を訪問し、各地で茶会を開催、日本の伝統文化を紹介しました。11日にはシアトル敬老で茶会を開催、50名以上の参加者が本場のお点前を体験しました。
Every year, as part of the Kobe-Seattle Sister City exchanges, a group of high school students come from Kobe to stay in Seattle and experience life in the local schools. A group of ten students arrived today and were greeted by the Seafair Ambassador students! This time, the students from Kobe will stay for six days and their visit will include courtesy calls to local schools and even to the Seattle Mayor’s office. We wish the Kobe student the best of luck for their stay!
姉妹都市交流の1つとして毎年行われている高校生交流プログラムに参加するため、神戸市立高校生の訪問団10名が今日シアトルに到着しました。空港でホームステイ先のシーフェア・アンバサダーの高校生の皆さんに出迎えられて大はしゃぎです！これから6日間現地の学校訪問やシアトル市長表敬訪問などのスケジュールが予定されています。皆さん頑張ってください！
